My Story

For thirteen years Great Swim has provided tens of thousands of swimmers with exhilarating, challenging and safe open water swimming events. The Great North Swim is UKs biggest & best open water swimming event, and gives participants a chance to immerse themselves in nature in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Windermere. 

I am swimming the Swim 1 mile for the charity I work for, Wear Rivers Trust on Saturday 10th June 2023. As a fan of open water swimming and working for an environmental charity it seemed fitting I chose the Great North Swim rather than the Great North Run that my collegues are partaking in, I am no runner!!!

Wear Rivers Trust aim to conserve, protect and rehabilitate the River Wear and its tributeries and rely heavily on grants and donations so this is a great way to take part in a great event doing something I enjoy for a worthy cause.
